We’re excited to highlight a new Gastroenterology paper showing how AI-assisted polyp detection systems are reshaping colonoscopy practice.

The Co-AID Study Group performed a patient-level analysis of randomized tandem trials in which patients first underwent colonoscopy without AI and then with AI.

Integrating AI tools into routine colonoscopy can increase adenoma detection rates, yet AI use increased the proportion of patients advised for more frequent surveillance, applying current guidelines recommendations, by an absolute 6.5%.

Is it time to re-shape guidelines recommendation based on whether AI was or was not applied?
